Health is Wealth
The current pandemic has highlighted the health disparities present among minorities in the United States and more specifically Michigan. Underlying health conditions are shortening lifespans at an alarming rate. The health is wealth program is designed to address these disparities through education and access. The program aims to teach disease prevention with a primary focus on healthy eating and exercising. Heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes are the leading cause of death but are also preventable. Education and accessibility are key factors of healthy living. Healthy lifestyle choices decrease mortality and morbidity rates and increase overall quality of life.
